Good business sense or just pure greed?

Qantas Airlines , Australia’s national carrier, announced on August 1st that they are increasing international fares due to fuel surcharges. The chief executive said the airlineqantas.jpg has spent $500 million more for fuel this financial year than in the previous year.

But in the business news yesterday, Qantas has posted a record pre-tax profit of $1.032 billion during the last financial year.

If this is the case, why do they have to increase fare? They still profited over a billion dollars last year even after spending $500 million more for fuel. Besides, Australian dollar is strong in the market, so it should offset the high fuel cost.

Their slogan says “The Spirit of Australia” but in practice they are actually dispiriting Australians.

Big corporations are just getting greedier each day.

I still can not forget what I have been through with them last year.

Grrrrrrr……nanggigigil bigote ko.
